Just say yes...

I absolutely adore this song. I love everything about it.

Just say yes, just say there's nothing holding you back
It's not a test, nor a trick of the mind
Only love

Just say yes, coz Im aching and I know you are too
For the touch of your warm skin
As I breathe you in

Relationship Whore

My friend recently broke up with her boyfriend of four years. The situation was quite complicated. His home town is far north and her hometown is here. They spent their time together in college until the inevitable day arrived. They're both back in their hometown and for some reason she loves him but can't stand not being able to be near him. It seems as though it's much easier to separate than be together in spirit and physically apart. It was my first time seeing a tear trickle down her face.

So it's probably about four months now. Apparently she's already dating. Where the hell is my date? I've been single for 3+ years. I feel embarrassed, self-pity and almost sad that I'm not dating much less in a relationship. I suppose however that it's not anyone's fault but perhaps fate. I might even be able to claim that my situation is complicated also.

She said in a playful way that she's a relationship whore because she likes being in relationships. She's my best friend so all I want for her is to be safe, happy and healthy. I'm happy for her but it's bittersweet because I feel sad for myself.

Sigh...

P.S. I can't find a thematic picture of how I'm feeling, because, I can't identify this emotion.

Who am I to say you love me?

I really like this song. I think it's so beautifully composed. It's pretty much a tear jerker. The singer sings from the depth of her heart with sadness seeping from every pore. I absolutely adore the piano that is played in the background.

To think that you know everything is folly and in this song she admits that she doesn't know anything. Heck, these days, you can put me in the same category.

First snowman ever!

It rarely snows in Houston so whenever it does the entire city gets very excited. City officials prepare for possible disasters, many work places declare a snow day and schools close. The reason for some panic is because the city of Houston is not able to manage snow conditions like other cities. Also, most Houston drivers drive terribly as is (I almost got forced off the road today!) and almost all the drivers lack snow driving skills and techniques.

The last time I can remember snow in Houston was on Christmas Eve of 2004. It was wonderful but sadly I was working during the short period of snowfall. After I went home I got to play by myself with what little snow I could find on my parent's car.
Last year it snowed on December 10th 2008 but I was at school and just finished working out at the rec center only to start working diligently on my project inside the library.

Finally! This year it snowed nearly the whole day on Friday December 4th. It was such a beautiful sight to see snow fall so heavily. It was a winter wonderland that everyone in Houston enjoyed. The snowfall was consistent and by around 1pm you could see extremely large flakes collect on the ground. I was at work but got off early in time to romp in the snow. For the first time in my life I had the opportunity to build a snowman. I admit, it is much more difficult than I thought; which reminds me, I should visit the gym very soon.

Hopefully, the next time it snows I will have someone very special to share the experience with and we can build a snowman together.

Here is an excerpt from The Sun, Community news:
Before Friday morning, the earliest snowfall on record happened just last year, when Houston saw .03 inches of snow on Dec. 10.
The most snowfall on record for our Gulf coast city was 20 inches that fell in over two days, Feb. 14 and 15 in 1895.

Snowman photos!

It looks huge!

Cool mowhawk.

I got tired so I was only able to build it as high as my knee. I think I have frost bite on my pinkie fingers.

Wow, is this not a ridiculous word? I'd be troubled if it became a ubiquitous word one day. I'd prefer to pronounce it as bon (as in bonbon's)... homie (as in whaddup homie!?)...

bon⋅ho⋅mie [bon-uh-mee, bon-uh-mee]

–noun
frank and simple good-heartedness; a good-natured manner; friendliness; geniality.

Love, inescapable.

Abstruse emotions perturbed by beauty and nature. No one can rebuff the sweet taste. Delightful… delightful…

Classic

I know not all people like classical music but I grew up being forced to play them so I eventually stumbled upon ones I enjoyed. I actually don't like all classical music but I love the calm types like this.

One's Journey.

I find this quote to be very true. Embrace it and practice it during moments of distraction.

More often than not... It is the journey we embark upon that is more important than our arrival at the final destination.

Live in the "cloud" with Google Sync!

Google Sync

For those of you that want to live in the "clouds" there is Google Sync. It offers the ability to have two-way sync for your contacts, calendars and emails. Currently it is in Beta stage but seemingly in Alpha stage instead. Nevertheless, it has been working continually better every week. I find it is very convenient to have all three elements pushed to your phone in under a minute.

Whether you are adding a contact or calendar appointment on your mobile device or via web - the changes are reflected almost immediately on both ends so you can fly out the door with everything you need in hand. It's sobering to know that almost everything on your device is immediately backed-up onto Gmail servers.

Follow the link below and enjoy. Click the drop-down arrow to select your mobile device for configuration instructions.

Dear friend.

Yikes, it's been several days since I've last blogged. I've been so busy with work and attended a wicked fun birthday party on Saturday. I haven't had a chance to collect my thoughts intelligibly to put into words...

However, there is definitely a thought I know I want to share. A friend of mine has been working extremely hard opening up her own line of clothing and just recently released prices for some of her clothing after doing diligent research. I'm extremely proud of her and I hope she's proud of herself for her accomplishments! In a way I'm a bit jealous because she's found her path and I've yet to find mine.

You go girl!

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you will always long to return.

When simple things were just... simple.

I've noticed that lately I've been saturating myself with things to do. As a result, being busy is even more of my hallmark. Although, I really don't believe being busy is such a bad thing. It helps to alleviate negative thoughts, creates productivity and forces/reinforces time management skills. However, keeping busy isn't bulletproof because I've found that particular thoughts will still creep in and there's still not enough time in the day to do everything I've wanted to do.

Call me crazy but sometimes I wish I could freeze time and enjoy the simple things in life like when we were children. Laying on the grass and watch the clouds go by. Making a kite and watching it fly higher than you could ever imagine. Playing outside without worrying about work and paying bills. Swinging on the swing set until the street lights came on. It was a grand old time when decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-mo catch a tiger by the toe....".

I'm going to make my best effort to learn how to play this song on the piano.

Gone

Sun - Gone (Moto Blanco)

I love this song because the female vocals is soft and soothing. The lyrics are above average because they're not too cheesy like others that I've listened to. Listen carefully to the steady and smooth beats with a good beat per minute (BPM).

I find that the melody is great but the electronic violins during the chorus is a little too powerful and subdues the emotions in the vocals. Too bad I can't find the original mix to compare. Moto Blanco mixes are usually reminiscent of the old school disco style. I really can't explain why I'm drawn to disco style music. Always have and always will. Enjoy...

Shattered

Wicked dark...

In this dank void.
Left destroyed.
Presence once enjoyed.
My heart now paranoid.

Gazing into space.
Never felt so much grace.
Until I leave this place.
Nothing is akin to your face.

Next one should be better and more bright...

I wish the costume could've turn out better but I think it's pretty good overall. Take a closer look and you can see the Sterling Silver contact lenses.

Focus

One of my favorites from a few years back. No filters used except a UV filter and just perfect timing during twilight hour. A little editing was done to sharpen the lines of the window frames and that was it.

Disco forever...

Here's an interesting tidbit about myself... I'm such a sucker for disco style music.

Halloween '09 Aftermath

Halloween pictures should be up in a few days. Halloween this year was pretty fun because I got to see some old friends and see people dress up. Although, last Halloween was much more fun for some reason. Probably because a fight broke out next to me and a complete stranger used a bottle of Grey Goose to hit me on the back of my head. If I'm not mistaken it was our bottle of Goose he used. Isn't that something?!

I got this quote from a friend but couldn't grab it fast enough before he logged off. I'll update it asap.

I wish the first word I said as a child was "quote", so when I die the last word I'll say is "unquote" - Steven Wright

Halloween

Halloween last year was quite fun. Everyone dressed up and met new people. Dressing up under a tight budget and still pulling off a unique look was absolutely fun. I went as Kakashi from a Japanese animation with a custom made mask, book and scar.

For Halloween this year I think I will go with the Hitman look. Of course, I will modify certain aspects to fit my budget and add some personal distinctions. The main part I need to tackle is mounting a fake suppressor onto an airsoft pistol without permanent damage.

Beautiful display YEA?

So, I try to enable dual monitors which should be fairly easy in Windows and be a slight challenge in Linux right? Nope, it's probably not possible in Linux for my setup. The above picture is what I get to marvel at after an hour worth of failure.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ubuntu Linux. It increases my work productivity with hotkey management, full screenshot and partial screenshot abilities. However, sometimes I just hate it with a passion. It feels like Linux in general is behind by 7 to 8 years compared to Windows and Mac.

Hopefully this doesn't come around to bite me in the butt. Here's an excerpt from an email early in the morning to a close friend that was lending an ear. The excerpt has been redacted to protect people.

My Dream
There was also a short dream where Travis, she and I were in a room with two beds. We were on the floor all playing with Legos to pass the time and to do something while chatting. Somehow we all became a little tired. Travis and I were on one bed and she was on the other bed. Travis, the bastard, farted and pissed me off so he left the room. She started talking to me and I found that it was very difficult to look her in the face, but nevertheless, it was so wonderful to see her beautiful smiling face again. We were talking about something she was sharing, however, I can't recall what it was about.

Afterwards we all head out to get ice cream somewhere that reminds me of a certain shopping area. I was last to go inside because I was distracted by something outside. It was a hooker giving a dude a blowjob right in front of the ice cream shop [don't know what that symbolizes]. I walk in and they already have a table where she reserved me a seat next to her; my heart melted.

I think there are tidbits of details and small scenes that I’ve forgotten but it feels like most of the time she was trying to stand or be near me. For once, in a long time, it felt like there was meaning and purpose in my life again. It felt like there was a real reason to wake up every day to look forward to going to the movies and spend time with her. I still had feelings for her and she knew it.

I woke up. I realized everything was only a dream but it didn't hurt so bad considering this kind of dream. The dreams were so vivid and real but at the same time I knew it couldn't be true. The emotions in the dream weren't as powerful as previous ones but it played out like it was a dream I really wanted to come true. Regardless, I still miss her and in some ways I wish the dream was real.

Thanks for letting me share.

Music

One of the reasons why I love music...
Only songs can explain things better than I ever could.

Such a beautiful song
Dobenbeck feat Joanna – Please Don’t go (Extended Mix)
