Beautiful display YEA?

So, I try to enable dual monitors which should be fairly easy in Windows and be a slight challenge in Linux right? Nope, it's probably not possible in Linux for my setup. The above picture is what I get to marvel at after an hour worth of failure.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ubuntu Linux. It increases my work productivity with hotkey management, full screenshot and partial screenshot abilities. However, sometimes I just hate it with a passion. It feels like Linux in general is behind by 7 to 8 years compared to Windows and Mac.
